Four Star Freightliner Supports New Diesel Tech Program at Elmore County School

At Four Star Freightliner, investing in the future of the diesel industry is not just something we talk about. It is something we actively build alongside our partners.

On March 20, that commitment was on full display at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new diesel technology building at Elmore County Career and Technical School in Wetumpka, Ala. This milestone marks an exciting step forward for the program and the students it serves.

Our relationship with the school began several years ago with a simple idea. We saw a growing need for skilled diesel technicians and believed there was an opportunity to partner with local educators to help develop that next generation of talent.

Early conversations with school leadership focused on how to create a partnership that would help develop that talent. That simple partnership turned into something that we didn't imagine would be possible - a diesel technology program at the school.

A Four Star Freightliner representative was asked to join the school's advisory board and helped plant seeds about the value of such a program. The program officially launched three years ago, and since then, it has continued to grow. The addition of a dedicated diesel technology building now gives students a space designed specifically for their success.

With a fully equipped shop and classroom, students can train in an environment that reflects the realities of today’s diesel industry. This kind of experience is critical in preparing them to transition directly into the workforce.

Programs like this do more than teach technical skills. They open doors. They create career pathways. And they help students build a strong foundation for long-term success in a high-demand field.

For Four Star Freightliner, this partnership represents a shared investment in both education and industry. By working together with Elmore County Career and Technical School, we are helping ensure that students have access to meaningful opportunities while also strengthening the future of the diesel workforce.

We are proud to support this program, proud of the students who are part of it, and excited to see the impact it will continue to make for years to come.
